About the Azimuth Quest Foundation
Who Are We
An Arizona-based 501(c)3 non-profit, incorporated in 2018. The Azimuth Quest Foundation helps young people discover and develop their potential through outdoor adventure education.
Participants in our youth programing will have the ability to take part in activities in fun and challenging outdoor settings that will encourage the following: promoting personal growth, insight and achievement, building positive relationships within a diverse group of young people and program mentors, experiencing leadership development opportunities, and developing an ethic of respect for and stewardship of the natural world and its wild places.
How We Operate
Azimuth Quest partners with local schools and youth-oriented non-profits to provide the curriculum, leadership and logistics along with physical and financial resources to assist those organizations in offering outdoor adventure education programs to their students/participants.
Our signature year-round program for high-school students is the Challenge Outdoor Adventure Program. Challenge is currently offered at Prescott High School, Prescott AZ.
Other schools and non-profits wishing to work with us to offer outdoor adventure education activities to their students/participants should contact us through our Contact form
The Story of Our Name
The word "Azimuth" is used in navigation and denotes an angle from a fixed reference, like true north. Historically, the word also meant "the way" or "the path.”
The Azimuth Quest Foundation uses the word intentionally; to remind everyone of our core purpose of helping young people set their direction in life through outdoor adventure education.
The Outdoors Is For All Youth
Azimuth Quest welcomes and includes youth from all backgrounds, and with any degree of prior experience in the outdoors and we strive to create an environment of belonging and unity within our groups.
Whether it be a weekend outing with the Challenge Program, an after-school mountain biking workshop and ride, or a week-long summer expedition, we will do our best to ensure that participants have the equipment, leadership, and necessary financial support to take part.
By reducing social, financial and resource barriers, students can feel comfortable and confident while participating in Azimuth Quest sponsored outings, providing a positive and inclusive outdoor experience for all.
The History of Azimuth Quest
Our history as an organization stretches far back into the 20th century, quite literally into the 1950’s. Visit our History Page to find out a little more about our roots
